FestivALL ArtWalk June 25

Downtown Charleston will celebrate its vibrant creative community at FestivALL ArtWalk Thursday, June 25 at participating galleries, studios and businesses. Click here for an event map.

As part of ArtWalk this month, there will be live music along the sidewalk between ArtWalk venues. Performer include Qiet, the No Pants Players and Matt Brinnkley. The LimeLight Theatre Company will also present a mime piece and several local artists will present Musical Easels, a rotating art demonstration.

The June Downtown Charleston ArtWalk will feature the following exhibits:

  • The Art Emporium, at 823 Quarrier Street, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in Downtown Charleston with its “Celebrating 10” exhibit featuring an open invitational exhibit with submitted works in a variety of media that measures to a finished size of 10” x 10.”

  • The Boutique by B. Belle Events, at 602 Virginia St., along with the Woodrum Building will present Walking Miracles Art Auction and Wine Tasting with live music from the Carpenter Ants to benefit West Virginia families affected by childhood cancer.

  • Capitol Conference Center, at 815 Lee St., will feature the work of Pam Stallings. Pam has produced a series of oil paintings of West Virginia landscapes and a series of pen and ink wildlife illustrations.

  • Charleston Ballet, at 100 Capitol St., will showcase the Allied Artists of West Virginia, including Stephanie Ferrell, Lisa Herchesky, Deborah Herndon and Sandra King.

  • Delfine’s Jewelry, at 245 Capitol St., will feature artwork by Kim Schrader and Wesley Eary.

  • The featured artist at Gallery Eleven, 1025 Quarrier St., will be Sonja Adkins.

  • Heidi Dylan, at 1031 Quarrier Street, will host its heididylan.com launch party for its online shopping boutique.

  • Northwestern Mutual, at 920 Quarrier Street, will showcase the woodwork of Wayne Stumps and his company Stump Standards, which specializes in kiln dried wooden furniture.

  • Purple Moon/Modern by Design, at 906 Quarrier St., will feature Peter Cornettt's handcrafted furniture creations. Cornett, who is based in Webster County, produces one-off pieces in his own, often eclectic, style. The store is also celebrating its 10th anniversary this month.

  • The Initialed Life/Virginia Lee, at 8 Capitol St., will open its showroom and feature the work of Knight Vision Designs.

  • Tony the Tailor, at 222 Virginia Street E, will have live music from Batteries Not Included and feature the Morgan Rhea collection of leather goods, designed by Morgan Richards.

  • WVSU Capitol Center Art Gallery, at 123 Summers Street, will have new art by WVSU May 2015 graduates Bri'Anna Bass, Dominique Bolling, Emory Carsey, and Kim Shrader on display. Bass's recyclables redefine the definition of trash; Carsey's sensual abstract paintings explore the human form in new ways; Shrader's powerful photos balance beauty and inhumanity; and Bolling's traditional photography shows us the Seven Deadly Sins.

Additional venues open during FestivALL ArtWalk this month include: Capitol Conference Center, Chet Lowther, Ivor’s Trunk, Little Black Dress Events, Mission Savvy, Timothy’s at Quarrier Diner, Real Estate Central, Romano & Associates, Stray Dog Antiques, Taylor Books, The Art Store, the Boutique by B. Belle, and Uncork & Create.
