Clayton Spangler's Altered State at Art Emporium
Photographic Artist Clayton Spangler will present Altered State at the Art Emporium during ArtWalk Thursday, Oct. 20.
While traveling throughout West Virginia, Spangler follows his muse of color, shadow and light to see a different world around him than most. He plays with these elements to create captivating interpretations of intimate landscapes. "Even though I shoot digitally and have a concept of what I want to happen, I never know exactly how things will turn out until I look at my images later,” says Spangler. “Sometimes the feeling I get looking at the photos leads me into a different direction than where I thought they would take me originally.”
Spangler is an award-winning photographer and certified photographic consultant. His images have been featured in Wonderful West Virginia, Paddler, Southern Living and Out Here magazines; advertising and marketing projects nationwide; and in the Professional Photographers of America’s traveling loan collection. Clayton is also a juried Tamarack artist, and his work is displayed regularly at David L. Dickerson Fine Art Gallery and the Art Emporium. He is the owner of Photographic Design, a commercial photography business located in Charleston, West Virginia. More info: spanglerstudio.com
