WaterMedia Trio Exhibition at The Art Store
The Art Store: The Art Store will be hosting our WaterMedia Trio exhibition. We will showcase three woman water media artists -- watercolor and acrylic. Each artist will be exhibiting recent works that are Impressionistic, Abstract and Photo-Realistic. This curated show will embrace a wide range of subject matter including still life, portraiture, landscape and abstract, appealing to a variety of interests. All three artists are Signature members of the West Virginia Watercolor Society. The WVWS strives to promote and endure the high standards of the art of watercolor painting in the state of West Virginia.
Chris Krupinski discovered watercolor in the mid-1980’s and was hooked, having a passion for the medium ever since. She earned a Dolphin Fellow designation with the WVWS in 2015, established to encourage artists to create more award-winning paintings and for the advancement of the art of watercolor. Her work has been shown internationally in China, Greece, Italy and Turkey and she has won more than 100 national awards and honors. Chris focuses on details in her painting with light and shadow being an intricate part of her photo realistic work.
Laurie Goldsmith-Warren is from New York and is currently living in Buckhannon, West Virginia. She is well credentialed having exhibited across the US as well as internationally. She has many signature memberships to state watercolor societies. Laurie’s work focuses on people, places and things. When deciding on a subject to paint, she tries to look, not only at the subject itself, but the beauty (sometimes hidden) in the colors, shadows and perception of the object. She captures the form of the subject and also the feel of its surroundings and its inner nature. She teaches painting workshops and enjoys jurying exhibitions.
Pamela Gatens was born in Dallas, Texas and comes from an artistic family. Her father was a professional photographer and mother an expert seamstress. She moved to West Virginia in 2002 and currently resides in Hillsboro. She is a member of the American Impressionist Society. She paints almost every day and loves to use bright colors which she feels embody freedom. Pamela also exhibits with Carlton Varney online and at The Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs.
