J. Travis Morton is an artist from Charleston, West Virginia specializing in acrylic paintings. Travis takes pride in creating his work entirely freehand; no masking or measurements. He has coined the term "Post Art Deco" to describe his particular style, which brings classic Art Deco design into the 21st century. Use of clean lines and geometric shapes are hallmarks of Travis' work, combined with strong approximate symmetry and fractal self-similarity. Influenced by the work of Charles Rennie Macintosh, Frank Stella, M C Escher, and Paul Klee and by styles such as Celtic, Meso-American, Geometric, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau. Travis' art has been described as Cerebral, Arcane, and Silent; Expressions of Glory and/or Menace.
