We will exhibit Juxtapositions by West Virginia native, Lynn Goldstein. Lynn was born and raised in Beckley, and graduated from West Virginia University where she received a degree in fine art.
Juxtapositions is a display of all new work produced by Lynn and includes thirty paintings. Each piece showcases the calm beauty of the outdoors.
Lynn states, “ Nature is my oasis of the mind. While among the trees, I can nearly feel the pulsating life force. To me, the land is a living, almost sentient environment, and to express that in my art through the use of texture, light, shadow, and heightened, sometimes vibrant colors, is my joy. As an artist, I strive to capture something beyond mere representation of the terrain and surroundings. My artwork celebrates the life-giving properties of the environment. I strive to offer a vision where calmness prevails and the clamor of the world melts away.”
In addition to ArtWalk on Thursday, an artist talk will take place on Wednesday, June 20, at 6 pm.
Also on exhibit at Taylor Books/Annex Gallery will be work by Jack Shaffer of Princeton, WV, Diane Radford and others.
