On Thursday, September 20th from 5-8 p.m. Mission West Virginia will be exhibiting a variety of art at Charleston's monthly ArtWalk. Hosting the location spot for Mission West Virginia is Tops Off Barber Shop on 229 Hale St in Charleston, WV 25301.
Mission West Virginia is very proud to feature art from the Giving Back with Heart Auction which is unique in the nation. This event showcases artwork entirely created by state and federal inmates throughout West Virginia. Proceeds from the auction benefit scholarships for West Virginia’s youth who have experienced foster care or had a parent incarcerated during childhood.
The auction will be at the Culture Center in Charleston, WV and starts at 6 p.m on October 16, 2018. There will be a silent and live auction, hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar and music. Extraordinary art provided by inmates includes handmade instruments; sketch art; sculptures; paintings, wood carvings, and much more.
Mission West Virginia works to find families for and support youth in the state foster care system.
